Student Housing All students attending King's Way during this time of transition will be housed in quality housing within close proximity of the Rio Grande Valley Prayer Center. All student housing includes basic furnishings, curtains, air conditioning and access to high speed Internet. When you request an Enrollment Packet, you will receive a price list giving housing cost information for both single and married students. Single students have the option of choosing between a full Room and Board Program or a Room Only Program. We highly recommend the full Room and Board option for singles students, which includes not only the student's housing but also all utilities and three meals a day. The Room Only Program for single students does not include any meals. Married students may choose between a Room Only Program or a Room and Noon Meal Option. The housing program for married students does not include electricity, which is extra. Students not choosing the options which include meals should bring their own dishes, kitchen utensils and small appliances such as microwaves and toasters. All students should bring their own linens, blankets, pillows and towels. Housing and utility deposits for are required for all of the various options. Please check the student application packet for further information and details concerning these required and refundable deposits.
Throughout the school year delicious, nourishing meals are prepared and served by the King's Way staff. In addition, there is a daily mid-morning break where snacks and beverages are available for a minimal fee. Meals are available to students depending on which housing and meal option they choose. Computer Lab State of the art desktop computers connected to our high speed wireless network are available in the Common Room of the King's Way House. These computers are available to all students for the completion of language lab assignments as well as personal use after school hours. Students are also encouraged to bring their own personal laptop computers. Individual access to the King's Way broadband wireless network is available for a reasonable monthly fee of $20.00 with an initial network connection fee of only $10.00. Students are also required to bring either a personal CD player or iPod or similar MP3 player device for the purpose of doing the required dialog memorization work, which is an integral part of the Spanish language course. RV Trailer Spaces At the current time King's Way does not have any RV spaces available for students. Students wishing to bring their own RV will need to make their own arrangements with one of the many fine local RV parks that are available to the public in the area. Housing Deposits Please see the Financial Information Sheet in the Enrollment Packet for details on exact deposit amounts. Pets We're sorry that at the present time King's Way does not allow any pets in our student housing. Students desiring to have a pet would need to make their own arrangements for housing in the local area. Chapel Chapel services are held weekly during the school year usually on Wednesdays. Our chapel speakers are local pastors and mission leaders as well as visiting missionaries who challenge both our students and staff concerning world missions and other vital and relevant spiritual topics. Chapel attendance is mandatory for all students. School Attendance for Children According
to Texas law families with children age 17 and under are required to attend school.
There are many public and private schools available here in the Rio Grande Valley
as well as a strong home school movement. Since many people involved in missions
nowadays choose to home school their children, prospective students will be happy
to know that King's Way encourages this option. However, parents who chose to
home school their children while attending our school are expected to conduct
their programs in a bona fide manner, using a written curriculum consisting of
reading, spelling, grammar, math, and a course in good citizenship as required
by laws of the State of Texas. For further details and information concerning
home schooling in Texas, please see the Home School Legal Defense Leagues' website
at www.hslda.org. There is also a well-developed home school support group in
the area, which we encourage our homeschoolers to join during their time at King's
Way. In Texas home schools are legally classified as private schools. For
